5 New Bathroom Design Ideas From RR Stone

5 New Bathroom Design Ideas From RR Stone

Members of the RR Stone team visited kbb Birmingham, Europe’s biggest kitchens, bedrooms and bathroom design exhibition, which ran from 6-9 March 2022, at the NEC Birmingham. We regularly attend trade show events to make sure we keep our finger on the pulse of new trends and what’s going on in the industry. kbb Birmingham offers us the perfect platform to network – we managed to catch up with some of the exhibitors from brands we currently stock in our Lake District Stone and Interiors Showroom, including Ca’Pietra and Quooker. It was fantastic to take a look at their stylish new ranges, that we will be showcasing in our Stunning Staveley Showroom.

As well as familiar faces one of our main objectives for attending kbb this year was to help give us some inspiration in sourcing new bathroom design furniture and bathroom interiors, for the imminent revamp of our three-storey showroom, which will be starting in the next few weeks! Some of the brands we were particularly drawn to because of their interior design wow factor were – House of Rohl who attended the event showcasing some inspirational brands including Victoria & Albert and Perrin & Rowe.

There were several key themes running through the kbb Birmingham 2022 event – most of which were drawn from the turbulence of the last 2 years and reflect how the industry and wider world has altered to adjust to the ‘new normal’, as we all learn to live with Covid 19.

“Over the last couple of years, our needs and requirements for the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom space have changed. Consumers are looking for good design and style but also practicality and sustainability. Our exhibitors will be showcasing their own take on these trends and we look forward to seeing what they have in store for attendees in 2022,” Andy Bishop, Creative Director, kbb Birmingham.

Here is a list of trends that you can expect to see across the kitchen, bedroom and bathroom industry in 2022 (ideas courtesy of inspiration taken from kbb Review).

1.       Smart & Touchless Solutions

We visited a number of stands showcasing innovative touchless solutions, including touch-free, gesture-controlled kitchen extraction solutions, touchless brassware options, as well as new touchless flush plates, which we will be looking at for our new bathroom showroom.

2.       Sustainability

Hot on the agenda for consumers at the moment are sustainably sourced products. There is increased emphasis on the importance of utilising recycled materials and renewable wood alternatives for furniture, fixtures and fittings. Our Natural Stone Worktops and Natural Stone Tiles for both kitchens and bathrooms, offer an aesthetically stunning, sustainable alternative to many man-made products. We craft most forms of natural stone for the home, including slate tilesmarble tilesreclaimed slate roof tilesquartz worktops and limestone tiles and flags. Visit the RR Stone website for our full range of natural stone and hard wood products.

3.       Bring the Outdoors In

Spending time outdoors at home has recently become the new ‘going out’, much of this attributable to the conditions we all had to adapt to during the covid 19 pandemic. The biggest trend of the last two years – bringing the outdoors – in and the indoors – out, has become a top priority on many peoples interior bathroom design wish list.

Nature inspired natural stone and hard wood flooring (we supply Ted Todd Hard Wood Flooring) is a hot trend, as well as botanical greens and greys, combined with raw timber flooring and interior finishes, embracing indoor-outdoor living. Conversely, consumers are investing a lot more financially into their outdoor living spaces, with the introduction of comfy soft furnishings and elegant touches, making their outdoor spaces work as an additional living area.

4. Black is Back!

The colour black is making a resurgence and being used increasingly to create impact and contrast in all areas of the home, including bathroom suits and kitchens. Black brassware, sinks, bathtubs and surfaces were a hot feature at this year’s kbb event and we will most definitely be including a black bathroom design theme in our new Staveley showroom!

5.       Interesting Shapes, Tiles & Styles

More and more consumers are experimenting with different tile textures, shapes, and colours. Hexagonal shapes are currently very popular bathroom design trends – we can’t wait to get the new range of Ca’Pietra, we have been a stockist for some time and find their range extremely popular. The Ca’Pietra National Trust range is very fitting for us as a Lake District National Park business.
